Is the back on the S21+ different from the standard S21?
Yes. The standard S21 uses a polycarbonate back, while the S21+ uses glass. That is why a drop that would scuff an S21 can shatter an S21+. The replacement is the original glass cover for the SM-G996B, bonded with proper adhesive by our technicians.
Is it safe to keep using the phone until the repair?
Handle it carefully and put it in a case if the glass is shattered, because shards work loose and the exposed adhesive collects grit. Keep it away from water. Nothing about the crack stops the phone working, but the longer it stays open, the more gets in.
What do you check after fitting the new cover?
Wireless charging, the cameras, the flash and the fit of the cover along every edge. Back covers on glass phones are bonded with adhesive, so we also confirm the bond has taken evenly around the frame before the phone leaves the bench and goes back to you.
