Why not just use a power bank instead of replacing the battery?
A power bank treats the symptom. A worn cell keeps degrading, voltage sag causes random shutdowns, and in rare cases a failing battery swells and pushes against the screen and back glass. Replacing it deals with the cause, and you stop carrying a charger everywhere.
Is a swollen battery urgent?
Yes. If the back glass is lifting or the screen is bulging, stop charging the phone and bring it in. A swollen cell is under internal pressure, and pressing on it, puncturing it or charging it makes things worse. We remove it safely and fit an original battery.
