Common questions
A speck of grit dented my inner screen. Is that really screen damage?
On a folding panel, yes. The flexible display is softer than glass, so a grain of sand pressed in by closing the phone leaves a permanent dent and can kill pixels or start a crack at the crease. If pixels have died or the mark is spreading, panel replacement is the fix.
Do you replace the factory screen protector as part of the job?
The original Samsung inner panel arrives with its protective film already applied at the factory, so a screen replacement gives you a fresh film as part of the part itself. It should stay on, because it is designed as part of the display stack on this model.
Is the cover screen a cheaper repair than the folding screen?
They are separate parts and separate repairs, each priced on its own. The 6.3 inch cover screen is conventional glass while the inner display is a folding assembly, so the parts differ completely. The price shown includes the original Samsung part and the fitting for the repair you book.
