The Fold7 has two screens. What does each one cost to replace?
The 6.5 inch cover screen is R3 450 fitted. The 8.0 inch folding inner display is R16 924 fitted. The Fold7 inner panel is larger than the Fold6 at 7.6 inch yet costs R893 less to replace, R16 924 against R17 817. Damage visible with the phone closed is the cover screen. Faults that only appear once you open the Fold7, along the crease or across one half of the panel, are the inner display.
How do I confirm I have a Fold7?
The Fold7 is the first Fold with an 8.0 inch inner display and a 6.5 inch cover screen, both larger than the 7.6 inch and 6.3 inch on the Fold6. The code is SM-F966 or SM-F966B, released July 2025, and it reads in Settings, About phone. The bigger panels mean Fold6 screens do not fit, and the Fold7 inner display is a separate part at R16 924.
It is a 2025 phone. What can go wrong already and what would it cost?
Accidental damage rather than wear, at this age. Cracked rear glass is R1 714 and the cover screen is R3 450. The 4400mAh battery is R2 416 if the phone has had heavy fast charging. The wider 8.0 inch inner panel also gives more surface for a pen tip or grit in the fold to press against, and that repair is R16 924.
