Why does my S22 last less than the S21 it replaced?
Because it holds a smaller battery. Samsung went from 4000mAh on the S21 to 3700mAh on the S22, and from a 6.2 inch screen to 6.1, so a shorter day was true of this phone when it was new in February 2022. A replacement cell is R1 550 and returns it to what it originally did, not beyond it.
Which S22 do I have?
Settings, then About phone. SM-S901E is the S22, SM-S906E the S22+, and SM-S908B or SM-S908E the S22 Ultra. The sizes run 6.1, 6.6 and 6.8 inches, only the Ultra has a slot for an S Pen, and the screens are R4 139, R4 344 and R6 245, so the code matters before you book anything.
Is a 2022 S22 worth repairing?
For most of it, yes. At four years old, the R4 139 screen is the least expensive of the three S22 models, with the battery at R1 550 and the charging port at R1 526. Where it turns is a drop that takes both faces: a screen plus the R1 702 back cover comes to R5 841, and that is worth pausing over.
