The Fold7 is barely a year old. Why would its battery need replacing?
Most will not this early. The ones that do have usually led hard lives: constant charging in a hot car, heavy daily cycles, or physical damage from a drop. Heat and cycles age lithium cells regardless of the phone's age on paper. If yours is misbehaving, we can assess it first.
Why should the battery be replaced at an authorised centre?
The Fold7 is the thinnest Fold yet, with two cells packed into halves that are just millimetres thick, alongside the folding display's supporting structure. Original batteries match the exact cells and connectors, and trained technicians know the disassembly. Generic cells and guesswork are how thin foldables get ruined.
Does replacing the battery reset or wipe the phone?
No. The battery is hardware, and swapping it does not touch the phone's storage, so your apps, photos and eSIM stay as they are. As with any repair, a recent backup is good practice, but the battery replacement itself does not involve your data at all.
