Common questions

Mine might be the A14 5G. Does that change anything?

It does. The A14 priced here is the 4G, model SM-A145F. The A14 5G is SM-A146 and is a separate device with its own parts, so a screen or a back cover for one will not fit the other. The code is under Settings, About phone, Model number, and it is worth checking before you buy anything for the phone.

Is a 2023 A14 worth repairing?

Yes, on the numbers. The back cover is R574, the charging port R553 and the battery R1 138, so three of the four jobs sit under R1 200 on a phone only three years old. The screen at R1 734 takes more thought, though it still comes in under the A13, A15 and A16 panels.

How is the A15 different from my A14?

The screen, mainly. The A14 has a 6.6 inch PLS LCD and the A15 that replaced it moved to a 6.5 inch Super AMOLED, so the newer phone actually has the slightly smaller display of the two. AMOLED costs more as a part, which is why the A14 panel is R1 734 and the A15 panel R2 019. Both kept the same 5000mAh battery.
