Common questions
Why does my Fold6 drain faster than my old phone did?
It is running a tablet-sized 120Hz display, a cover screen and a 5G modem from 4400mAh, so it works its battery harder than a normal phone does. That is fine while the cells are healthy. As cycles accumulate the margin disappears, and the drain becomes hard to live with.
Can you test whether my battery actually needs replacing?
Yes. Bring the phone in and we will check the battery's condition and rule out other causes of drain before recommending a replacement. If the cells are healthy, a new battery will not fix your problem, and we would rather find the real cause than sell you the wrong repair.
Is the battery in the Fold6 one cell or two?
Two. Samsung splits the 4400mAh capacity into a cell in each half of the phone, managed together by the charging system. It is part of how a foldable stays thin. Replacement is a job for a workshop with foldable experience, which is what an authorised centre gives you.
