Which Flip6 screen is broken, and what is each one?
The 3.4 inch cover screen on the lid is R3 310 fitted. The 6.7 inch folding inner display is R10 659 fitted. Same phone, R7 349 between the two parts. Cover screen damage shows as cracked glass or dead touch while the Flip6 is shut. Inner display damage shows as a line or dark band at the crease, or a panel that stays black when you open it. Both are certified original parts and the prices include the fitting.
How do I tell a Flip6 from a Flip5?
Check Settings, About phone. SM-F741 or SM-F741B is the Flip6, released July 2024. SM-F731B is the Flip5 from the year before. The Flip6 gained a 4000mAh battery over the Flip5 at 3700mAh, and its parts price higher across the board: R3 310 against R3 080 for the cover screen, R10 659 against R9 433 for the inner display, and R1 524 against R1 315 for the rear glass.
The Flip6 is only two years old. Is the inner display repair sensible at that price?
On a 2024 phone, R10 659 buys back a handset that is still current, which is a very different sum from the same repair on a 2021 Flip3. The smaller jobs cost far less: the battery is R2 681 and the charging port is R1 671. Most Flip6 work is finished inside three working days, and the three month warranty covers the part and the fitting.
