The S26 Ultra is Samsung's current flagship, with a 6.9 inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, a 200MP camera system and a 5000mAh battery. It is also the priciest phone in the range to leave broken.

Common questions

The S26+ and S26 Ultra model numbers differ by one digit. How do I check which I have?

Settings, About phone, and read it carefully. SM-S948B is the Ultra with the 6.9 inch QHD+ display; SM-S947B is the 6.7 inch S26+. That single digit is worth reading twice, because the Ultra takes the 6.9 inch panel at R5 266 and an S26+ screen is a different part quoted off SM-S947B.

How does the S26 Ultra compare with the S25 Ultra for repair costs?

Same 6.9 inch QHD+ size and same 5000mAh capacity, different parts and different prices. The S26 Ultra is SM-S948B and the S25 Ultra is SM-S938B, so confirm the model number before working off the figures here. The screen is the one that went up, R5 266 against R4 798, while the back cover came down to R1 660 from R2 050, the battery to R1 530 from R1 900 and the charging port to R1 270 from R1 435.

R5 266 is a lot for a screen. Is there any way around it?

Not if the panel itself is damaged. Glass and display are one assembly on the 6.9 inch QHD+ Ultra, so the whole thing is replaced and the R5 266 covers the part and the fitting. The thing worth checking first is that the panel is what broke: a shattered screen protector over intact glass looks identical at a glance, and a drop hard enough to break this display can also bend the frame, which we would want to see before the job is booked.
