Is the S21 FE just a cheaper version of the S21?

It is a separate phone, released a year later in January 2022, and it is the bigger of the two. 6.4 inches against the S21's 6.2, a 4500mAh battery against 4000mAh, and a different model code, SM-G990E rather than SM-G991B. The screen, battery and back cover are all sized for the FE, so book the repair against the G990E code and not the S21's.

Is a 2022 S21 FE worth repairing?

For most of the jobs on it, yes. It is four years old, and its screen at R3 695, back cover at R1 213 and charging port at R1 270 are the lowest priced parts in the whole S21 range. The battery at R1 600 on a 4500mAh cell is the job that changes daily use the most, and everything is fitted on site in Umhlanga inside three working days.

Anything about the build I should know before booking?

Both the frame and the back of the S21 FE are plastic, where the S21 uses an aluminium frame. A drop is more likely to leave a dented corner or a scuffed back than a shattered one, and the back cover is the cheapest part here at R1 213. The front is still glass over the 6.4 inch panel, so a hard fall onto a corner usually ends at the R3 695 screen.
