Common questions

Is an A51 still worth repairing in 2026?

It depends which repair. A battery at R1 241 or a charging port at R852 on a phone that is otherwise sound is sensible money, and both are quick jobs. A screen at R2 859 is a harder call, because the A51 was released in December 2019 and Samsung stopped its security updates in February 2024, so that is a lot to put into a phone that will not be updated again.

How do I know I have the A51 and not the A51 5G?

Open Settings and look under About phone. An A51 price covers the SM-A515F, the 4G A51 that came out in December 2019 with the 4000mAh battery. The A51 5G is the SM-A516B, a different phone released a few months later with its own screen and battery, so the model number decides what we order in.

What usually goes wrong with an A51 at this age?

The battery and the charging port. A 4000mAh cell that is six years old will not hold a day any more, and that is the R1 241 repair; a port that has gone loose, or that only charges with the cable held at an angle, is R852. The other common A51 complaint is burn-in, faint shadows of the navigation bar or keyboard left on the AMOLED, and that can only be dealt with by replacing the screen.
