Common questions
How do I know it is the battery and not something else?
Sudden percentage drops, random shutdowns and poor standby life all point to a worn cell. The Samsung Members app has a diagnostics section that grades battery condition. If the phone is years old and still on its first battery, wear is the likely cause, and we can confirm it in the workshop.
The back of my A51 looks swollen. Is that dangerous?
Stop charging it and bring it in soon. A bulging back usually means the battery has swollen, and a swollen lithium cell should not be pressed, punctured or left on a charger. Replacing it promptly also protects the screen and cover, which swelling can push out of place.
Will a new battery really make the phone feel newer?
It fixes the one part that wears out fastest. Charge holds the way it did when the phone was new, shutdowns stop, and charging heat usually settles down. It does not speed up the processor, but most people run an A51 for years more on a fresh cell.
