Common questions
The area around my camera lenses cracked. Is that the back cover?
On the A04s the camera surround is part of the rear cover, so a crack there is repaired by replacing the cover itself. We also check the camera lenses and modules underneath while it is open, and we will tell you if anything more than the cover is damaged.
Is the back cover on the A04s glass or plastic?
Plastic, which is why it survives most drops that would shatter a glass back. It still cracks under a hard corner hit and it scratches over time. Replacement covers from Samsung carry the same material and colour finish as the original, and the fitting is included.
Will a new back cover make my phone waterproof?
No. The A04s does not carry a water resistance rating, and no repair adds one. A properly fitted cover does keep out dust and everyday splashes better than a cracked one, but the phone should still be kept away from water. That was true of the original cover too.
