What does the A04s have that the A04 does not?

A faster screen and a fingerprint reader. The A04s (SM-A047F) runs its 6.5 inch HD+ panel at 90Hz, the first in the A0 range to do so, on an Exynos 850 with the reader in the power button. The A04 (SM-A045F) is 60Hz on a Helio P35 with no reader. The two panels are not interchangeable, so the code on the phone decides which part we order.

Why is the A04s back cover R889 when the A04's is R567?

Different part, different cost. The A04s cover is the dearest of the 2022 A04 family, R889 against R690 for the A04e and R567 for the A04. A hairline crack on a sealed, working phone is a repair you can put off; a cover that has split away and is letting dust behind the camera glass is not.

Is an A04s from 2022 still worth spending money on?

For most of these jobs, yes. It was released in August 2022 and has the best display of the three A04 models, so a R1 129 battery or a R586 charging port keeps a phone that is still decent to use. The R1 801 screen is the one to weigh up, though it does buy back the 90Hz panel rather than a plain 60Hz one.
