Because the Fold5 closes completely flat, a drop onto a hard floor is usually paid for by the rear glass. Cracked back panels are among the Fold5 repairs we see most, and the panel is bonded to the frame with adhesive, so it is a workshop job.
We lift the damaged cover with controlled heat, prepare the frame and bond an original Samsung panel for the SM-F946. The fitting is included in the price shown.

Common questions
Does the back cover repair involve opening the whole phone?
No. The rear panel comes off the outside of the chassis. The folding screen, hinge and main board stay untouched, and nothing about the repair goes near your data. The old adhesive is cleaned off, a new original cover is bonded on, and the phone is closed up.
Is aftermarket back glass much worse than original?
On this phone it matters. Original Samsung covers match the Fold5's exact cutouts, camera surround, finish and adhesive footprint, so they bond flat and look factory. Poorly fitting glass can sit proud, catch when the phone closes flat and lift over time. As an authorised centre we only fit genuine covers.
The crack is small. Can it wait?
It rarely stays small. The rear panel is under slight tension from its adhesive bond, and daily gripping flexes it, so cracks travel. Small cracks also let in dust and moisture long before they look serious. Replacing the panel while the damage is minor keeps the job straightforward.
