Common questions
The cable feels loose in my Fold5. What is going on?
Two possibilities. Compacted lint at the bottom of the port can stop the plug clicking fully home, or the port's retention clips have worn so the plug no longer grips. The first needs a proper clean, the second needs the sub-board replaced. We check which it is before replacing anything.
Will this repair fix USB file transfer as well as charging?
Yes, if the port is the fault. Charging and data run through the same physical connector, so a failing port often breaks both at once. Replacing the sub-board restores the connection for charging, file transfers and desktop features like DeX in one repair.
