The Flip3 5G has two displays and they are priced far apart. The small front cover screen beside the cameras is R2 146 fitted. The 6.7 inch folding inner display is R8 883 fitted. Both are certified original parts, both prices include the fitting, and both carry a three month warranty on the part and the work. Cracked outer glass while the phone was shut is almost always the cover screen. A dark band along the crease, a dead strip down the fold, or ink spreading out from the fold line is the inner display.

Closed, they are hard to separate by eye. Open Settings, then About phone, and read the model number. SM-F711 or SM-F711B is the Flip3 5G from August 2021. SM-F721B is the Flip4 from a year later. The Flip3 also runs a smaller 3300mAh battery. Parts do not cross between the two: a Flip3 battery is R2 188 against R2 711 for a Flip4, and the Flip3 inner display is R8 883 against R10 714. Give us the model number and the right part gets ordered the first time.

Split the question by part. The cover screen at R2 146, the 3300mAh battery at R2 188 and the charging port at R1 544 are modest sums against replacing the handset, and a five year old Flip3 needs the battery far more often than either display. The R8 883 inner display is the hard call. On a 2021 phone that figure can exceed what the handset would sell for second hand, so check current listings for your storage variant before you commit to it.
