The purple, blue and black glass backs on the S9 look good until they meet a hard floor. A cracked cover is more than cosmetic on this phone, because the glass is part of what keeps dust and moisture out.

Removing the old cover means softening the factory adhesive and lifting the glass without disturbing anything underneath. We do this daily, fit an original Samsung cover with new adhesive, and include part and fitting in the price shown.

Common questions

The crack is right next to the fingerprint sensor. Is that a problem?

It can become one. The S9 fingerprint sensor sits in the back glass area, and cracks nearby let in dust that can affect it over time. We replace the cover and check the sensor is working properly before the phone goes back to you.

How is the old glass removed without damaging the phone?

The cover is bonded on with strong adhesive, so we warm it to soften the glue and lift the glass in a controlled way. Done properly, the components underneath are untouched. Trying it at home with a hairdryer and a card is where most DIY damage happens.

Is it worth fixing the back on an older phone?

If the phone is otherwise healthy, yes. A new original cover costs far less than replacing the phone, seals it against dust and moisture and removes the sharp edges. It also makes a real difference if you plan to sell or hand the phone down.
