Compact flagships are rare now, which is one reason so many people hold on to the Galaxy S9. The 5.8 inch Super AMOLED screen and the glass back are the parts we repair most, along with charging ports that have simply worn out after years of daily use.
All repairs at our Umhlanga workshop use original Samsung service parts, fitted by trained technicians at an authorised Samsung service centre. The price you see on each repair page covers both the part and the fitting, so there is nothing added on top.

What we can replace on this device
Common questions
How do I check that I have an S9 and not an S9+?
Open Settings, About phone and look for SM-G960F. The S9 is the 5.8 inch model with one rear lens and a 3000mAh battery, while the S9+ is 6.2 inch with two rear lenses and 3500mAh under the code SM-G965F. Every part is model specific, so bring the phone in if you are unsure rather than going by size.
What usually fails on a Galaxy S9 now?
Charging ports and back glass, mostly. Eight years of plugging in wears the USB-C port until the cable only holds at one angle, which is the R1 405 repair, and the glass back cracks on a drop even when the front survives, at R1 266. Burn-in from a static clock or navigation bar is the other one we see on the 5.8 inch AMOLED, and burn-in is a screen replacement rather than anything software can undo.
Is it worth putting R4 494 into an S9 screen?
Often it is not, and we would rather say that up front. The S9 came out in March 2018 and left Samsung software support in 2022, and the screen alone costs more than the back cover and charging port together. If the display still works and it is the port or the rear glass giving trouble, those are the two repairs that make sense on this model.
Working out what is wrong
If you are not certain what has failed, these work through the symptoms.

- It will not charge
- The charge does not last the day
- A green or pink line down the display
- It went in water
