Charging problems on the S8+ usually come down to the USB-C port. Years of plugging in wears the pins, and pocket lint packs into the socket until the cable no longer seats properly. On this model the port sits on a sub-board, which is replaced as a unit.
We fit an original Samsung sub-board so charging and data transfer work reliably again. Part and fitting are included in the price shown.
Signs you need this repair
- Only charges when the cable sits at an angle
- Cable feels loose and falls out
- Charging stops and starts on its own
- Computer no longer recognises the phone

Common questions
Could it just be dirt in the port?
Often, yes. Compressed lint at the bottom of the socket stops the cable clicking home. We check for that first, because a clean is a much smaller job than a part swap. If the pins are worn or bent, then the sub-board needs replacing.
My S8+ charges slowly even with a fast charger. Is that the port?
It can be. Worn contacts stop the phone negotiating fast charging, so it falls back to a slow rate. A tired battery or a damaged cable can cause the same thing, so we test the phone properly before recommending the repair.
What does the repair actually involve?
On the S8+ the USB-C port sits on a small sub-board inside the phone. We open the phone, replace that board with an original Samsung part and reseal it. Your storage is untouched, so apps and photos stay exactly where they were.
