The S26's rear glass is bonded to the frame with adhesive, and it is often the first part to give in a drop, because corners strike first. Cracked rear glass keeps spreading and sheds fine splinters as you handle the phone.

The repair is a new original Samsung cover, bonded on with fresh adhesive by our technicians in Umhlanga. The cover and the work are included in the price shown.

Common questions

My S26 is on contract. Can you still do the repair?

Yes, contract phones are welcome. We are a Samsung authorised service centre, so the repair uses original Samsung parts fitted to Samsung's standard. Bear in mind that cracked glass is normally accidental damage rather than a warranty matter, so check any cover you hold with your insurer or network first.

Is the back just glued on?

Bonded, which is glue done properly. Samsung attaches the cover with a die-cut adhesive layer that seals the whole perimeter, and that is how we refit it, on a cleaned frame with new adhesive. The bond is what keeps dust and moisture out, so the fitting matters as much as the glass.

Can I keep using the phone with a cracked back until the repair?

You can, carefully. Put it in a case to contain the glass, and keep the crack away from rain and steamy bathrooms. Avoid pressing on the damaged area. The crack will not fix itself and the seal is already broken, so sooner is better, but the phone is usable.
