USB-C ports fail from lint, wear and bent pins, and the S20 is no exception. A socket that has been plugged in daily since 2020 has earned its retirement, and the symptoms are hard to miss once they start.
We fit the original Samsung sub-board for the S20, a complete replacement of the charging assembly rather than a patch-up. Part and labour are included in the advertised price.
Signs you need this repair
- Charger clicks in but nothing happens
- Charging works only while holding the cable
- Warning about the accessory or moisture
- USB file transfer to a laptop stopped working

Common questions
Nothing happens at all when I plug my S20 in. Is the port dead?
Possibly, though a flat battery, a failed cable or a deep discharge can look identical. Leave it on a charger for half an hour, try wireless charging, and try another cable. If wireless charging works but the cable does nothing, the sub-board is the likely fault.
Can a faulty port damage my battery over time?
Erratic charging is not good for any battery. A failing port makes charging start and stop repeatedly, which adds heat and interferes with the charging profile. If the phone has been struggling to charge for months, we can check battery health while the sub-board is being replaced.
What if the new port doesn't fix the charging problem?
We diagnose before we replace, so the sub-board is only fitted when the evidence points at the port. If testing shows the fault is elsewhere, such as the cable, the battery or the main board, we tell you before any work is done and talk through the options.
