There are three phones called S20 FE. Which one is this?
These prices are for SM-G780F, the 4G Exynos S20 FE that went on sale here from October 2020. SM-G781B is the 5G Snapdragon version and SM-G780G is the 2021 Snapdragon 4G refresh. All three carry the S20 FE name and look the same, so check Settings, About phone, Model number before you book.
Why is the S20 FE screen so much cheaper than the S20's?
Because it is a flat Full HD+ panel rather than a curved Quad HD+ one. The 6.5 inch S20 FE screen is R3 311 where the smaller 6.2 inch S20 screen is R5 606, and the difference is the curve and the resolution, not the size. It makes the S20 FE one of the easier phones of its era to justify putting a new screen into.
What is worth knowing about the S20 FE before booking?
It carries a bigger battery than the standard S20, 4500mAh against 4000mAh, and that is normally the first thing to give trouble. Six years of charging a cell that size behind a 120Hz screen takes its toll, and a replacement battery is R1 177. The back is plastic rather than glass, so it survives drops that would crack a glass back and the 6.5 inch screen is usually the part that pays for the fall.
