Common questions
Is the back cover part of the A33's water resistance?
Yes. The IP67 rating depends on the whole phone being sealed, including the adhesive bond around the back cover. A cracked or lifting cover compromises that. When we fit the new cover we use the correct adhesive, so the seal is rebuilt along with the looks.
My cover is lifting but not cracked. What does that mean?
Sometimes a lifting cover means the adhesive has let go, but it can also mean a swelling battery is pushing from underneath. We check the cause before anything else, because sealing a new cover over a swelling battery helps nobody. If the cover itself is damaged, a new original one goes on.
Does the back cover replacement wipe anything on the phone?
No. It is an external repair and your storage is never touched. Photos, chats and apps stay exactly where they are. A backup before any repair is still a good habit, but there is nothing in this job that resets or wipes the phone.
