The A32 5G looks like its 4G namesake but it is a different phone inside, with its own model number, SM-A326B. Parts do not cross over between the two, which is exactly why the model number matters when you book a repair.

Is the A32 5G the same phone as the A32?
No, and the differences run right through the parts. The 5G is SM-A326B with a 6.5 inch TFT LCD at 720 x 1600 and the fingerprint reader built into the side power button; the 4G is SM-A325F with a smaller 6.4 inch Super AMOLED at full HD+ and the reader under the glass. Confusingly the 5G came out first, on 22 January 2021, with the 4G arriving about a month later. Check Settings, About phone so we work to the right code.
What should I know about the A32 5G screen before booking?
It is an LCD rather than AMOLED, which changes what damage looks like. Knocks on the SM-A326B usually show up as white or washed-out patches and backlight bleed, not the black ink that spreads across an AMOLED panel. The fingerprint reader is in the side power button on this model rather than under the display, so a dead screen and a fingerprint that will not register are two separate faults here.
Is it worth putting money into a 2021 A32 5G?
For the small jobs, yes. A charging port at R715, a battery at R1 106 or a back cover at R802 are modest amounts on a phone that still has 5G and a 5000mAh battery, and all three carry a three month warranty on the part and the work. We do not have a listed price for the SM-A326B screen, so bring the phone to the Umhlanga workshop if that is what you need and we will quote you on it.
