A Fold4 that only charges when the cable is held just so is showing the classic signs of a failing USB port. On this phone the connector sits on a replaceable sub-board, so the repair swaps that board rather than touching the motherboard.

I have tried three cables and it still will not charge. Now what?
Once multiple known-good cables and adapters fail, the port itself is the likely fault. Worn or bent pins stop the connector making solid contact no matter what you plug in. That is exactly what this repair addresses: the sub-board carrying the port is replaced with an original Samsung part.
What causes a charging port to fail in the first place?
Three things do most of the damage: lint from pockets packed hard into the connector, plain mechanical wear from years of plugging in, and pins bent by a cable inserted at an angle or yanked out. Any of them stops the plug seating and gripping properly.
Does the charging port repair affect my data or the screens?
No. The sub-board sits in the lower section of one half of the phone, away from the main board where your data lives and away from both displays. Samsung builds the port on its own module precisely so it can be serviced in this contained way.
