Common questions
Android Auto keeps dropping in the car. Could that be the port?
Very often, yes. Android Auto over a cable needs a solid data connection, and a worn port drops it every time the phone shifts. Try a quality replacement cable first, since car cables take abuse. If the dropouts continue with a good cable, the port sub-board is the likely culprit.
The phone charges wirelessly but not on cable. What does that tell you?
It tells us the battery and charging circuit are healthy, and the fault is isolated to the cable path, meaning the cable, the charger or the port. That is genuinely useful diagnostic information. Once we rule out your cable and charger, the port sub-board is replaced with the original part.
Do bent pins mean the whole port is finished?
Usually, yes. The pins inside a USB-C port are tiny and precisely spaced, and once bent they rarely straighten reliably, while a shorted pair can cause real damage. The good news is the port lives on its own board, so the fix is contained. We fit the original sub-board and test everything.
