Common questions
Does the high-resolution screen wear the battery faster?
The screen is the biggest power consumer on any phone, and QHD+ at 120Hz asks more of the cell than a basic display would. That means more cycles, and cycles are what age a battery. It is normal, but it is also why a hard-used S24+ can need a new cell before a lightly used one.
What happens to my old battery?
It is disposed of safely through proper channels for lithium cells. Old batteries should never go into ordinary rubbish, because damaged or punctured cells can catch fire, and landfilled lithium is an environmental problem. Handing the phone to an authorised centre means the old cell is dealt with responsibly.
Can a worn battery damage anything else in the phone?
A tired cell mostly just performs badly, but a swollen one is different. Swelling pushes against the screen and back cover, and can crack either or break the seal. If your S24+ shows any bulge or the cover starts lifting, stop charging it and bring it in promptly.
