The S21 Ultra takes an S Pen. Can you replace one?
Not as a part of the phone. SM-G998B works with an S Pen but has no slot to hold it, so the pen is a loose accessory rather than something fitted inside the handset. Replacing one means buying another pen, not booking a repair. The S22 Ultra is the model with a pen that lives in the body.
Why is the screen R7 438?
It is the largest and highest resolution panel in the S21 range, 6.8 inches, QHD+, curved down both edges. That one part costs more than the back cover, battery and charging port combined, which is R4 642. On a phone released in January 2021, that is the repair worth weighing against what the handset is still worth to you.
What tends to go wrong on this one?
The curved edge takes the impact in a drop, so the glass goes at the sides more often than in the middle, and either way that is the R7 438 job. The other regular one is the 5000mAh battery, now five years old and R1 700 to replace. A case with a lip that stands proud of the front glass is worth more on this phone than on the flat S21.
