Common questions
I keep getting a moisture warning but the phone is dry. What is that?
The port has moisture-detection contacts, and when they are dirty, corroded or damaged the phone can flag moisture that is not there and block cable charging to protect itself. A clean sometimes clears it. If the warning persists on a dry phone, the sub-board is usually the fix.
Will replacing the port fix slow charging?
If the slow charging comes from worn port contacts, yes, the phone will negotiate its full charging speed again with the right charger. If the cause is an underpowered adapter or a damaged cable, no board can fix that, which is why we test with known-good chargers first.
Do I lose anything by putting this repair off?
Mostly convenience, then function. The port rarely heals, so the wiggling gets worse until charging fails completely, and intermittent charging overnight leaves you starting days at half a tank. Wireless charging keeps you going in the meantime, but it is slower and does not carry data.
