Common questions
My Note9's back cover is lifting slightly. Is that the battery?
Very possibly. A worn lithium battery can swell and push the back cover or screen away from the frame. Stop charging the phone and bring it in soon, because a swollen cell should not be left inside the device. Replacing it early protects the screen and back glass.
Why do batteries wear out in the first place?
Lithium cells degrade with charge cycles. Every full charge and discharge slowly reduces the capacity the battery can hold, and heat speeds the process up. A Note9 battery has typically been through well over a thousand cycles by now, so reduced runtime is normal wear, not a fault you caused.
