If your Note8 only charges when the cable sits at an angle, the USB-C port is on its way out. Pocket lint packs into the socket, and years of plugging in wear the pins loose. Eventually the phone stops charging at all.
We replace the complete USB sub-board with an original Samsung part rather than patching the old one. Fitting is done by our technicians and is included in the price shown.
Signs you need this repair
- Cable has to sit at a certain angle to charge
- Charging starts and stops on its own
- Fast charging no longer works
- Computer doesn't recognise the phone when plugged in

Common questions
Could it just be lint in the port instead of a fault?
Often, yes. Lint compacts at the bottom of the socket and stops the plug seating fully. We check and clean the port before recommending a replacement, so you only pay for the sub-board if it is genuinely worn or damaged.
Will fast charging work again after the repair?
Yes. A new original sub-board restores the full charging behaviour the Note8 shipped with, including Adaptive Fast Charging with a compatible charger. If charging stays slow after a port replacement, the fault usually sits with the cable or adapter, and we can test those for you too.
Should I try a new cable before booking a port repair?
It is worth ruling out. Try a known good cable and wall adapter first, and clear out visible lint gently. If the phone still needs the cable held at an angle, or charging cuts in and out, the port itself is worn and the sub-board needs replacing.
