The Galaxy A56 5G arrived in 2025 with a 6.7 inch 120Hz Super AMOLED, a 5000mAh battery and a slim aluminium framed body with glass on both sides. It is a current model, and repairs on current models should be done with current, original parts.

Common questions
SM-A566B or SM-A566E, does it matter which one I have?
Not for the repair. The A566B is the version Samsung South Africa sells and the other suffixes are the same handset built for other regions, with the differences in the network bands. Check the number under About phone in Settings and give it to us when you book, and we will match the part to it.
What changed between the A55 and the A56?
The A56 is thinner and lighter at 7.4mm and 198g against the A55's 8.2mm and 213g, the screen grew from 6.6 to 6.7 inches, charging went from 25W to 45W, and Samsung promises six Android upgrades instead of four. What you give up is the microSD slot, which the A56 does not have. For repairs the difference that shows is the screen: R3 733 here against R4 277 on the A55.
Should I back up my A56 before bringing it in?
Yes, and more so on this model than on the older A phones. The A56 has no microSD slot, so there is no card to pull out and read somewhere else; everything sits on internal storage. A screen or battery replacement does not touch your data, but back up while the phone still responds, because a black display makes it hard to reach anything afterwards.
