Common questions
How do I tell the FE+ from the standard FE, and the 5G from the Wi-Fi?
By screen size and model number. The FE+ is the 12.4 inch one, and its 5G code is SM-X616B while the Wi-Fi version is SM-X610; the smaller 10.9 inch FE is SM-X516B or SM-X510. Read the code under Settings, About tablet, because the 12.4 inch panel at R4 450 and the 10.9 inch panel are separate parts.
The Tab S9+ is also 12.4 inches. Why is its screen R7 650 and mine R4 450?
Panel and chipset. Your FE+ uses a 12.4 inch LCD at 90Hz on an Exynos 1380, while the S9+ uses a Dynamic AMOLED 2X at 120Hz on a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which is where the R3 200 difference sits. The two tablets share the same 10090mAh battery and the same IP68 rating, so on paper they look closer than the repair prices suggest.
Is the repair worth it on a tablet this size and age?
Yes on the dates. The FE+ came out in October 2023 and keeps getting security patches to at least 2028, so R4 450 goes into a tablet with years of supported use left. It is also the cheapest 12.4 inch screen in the S9 family, which matters if the choice you are weighing up is repair against replacement.
