The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra 5G carries a 14.6 inch Super AMOLED panel, the largest screen Samsung had put in a tablet when it launched in 2022. It is a serious work machine, and when something goes wrong you want it fixed with the same parts it left the factory with.

How do I know whether mine is the 5G Tab S8 Ultra or the Wi-Fi one?
Open Settings, then About tablet, and read the model number. The 5G Ultra is SM-X906B and has a SIM tray cut into the frame, while the Wi-Fi version is SM-X900 and has none. The R9 350 screen price is quoted against the SM-X906B, so have the full code with you when you book.
Is R9 350 sensible on a tablet released in February 2022?
That depends on how much longer you plan to keep it. Samsung finished Android upgrades for the Tab S8 range in early 2026 and security patches stop in early 2027, so the money goes into a tablet with roughly a year of updates left. If you work on the 14.6 inch screen daily it can still be the cheaper route, and if the tablet mostly sits in a bag it is hard to justify.
What separates this from the Tab S9 Ultra?
Same screen size, different panel, and no water resistance on yours. The S8 Ultra is SM-X906B with a 14.6 inch Super AMOLED and no IP rating at all, while the S9 Ultra is SM-X916B with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X and an IP68 rating. The panels are separate parts and do not swap between the two, and the S9 Ultra screen is R10 270 against R9 350 here. Since nothing on the S8 Ultra is sealed against liquid, bring it in straight after a spill rather than trying to dry it out.
