The Z Flip7 FE brought Samsung's flip phone down to a friendlier price, and plenty of them are now riding in pockets around Durban. Folding in half means it carries parts an ordinary phone does not: a flexible 6.7 inch main screen, a 3.4 inch cover screen and rear glass that takes the knock when it lands closed.

My Flip7 FE screen is broken. Which part is it?

The FE has a 3.4 inch Super AMOLED cover screen on the lid at R2 955 fitted, and a 6.7 inch folding inner display at R7 525 fitted. That inner figure is the lowest inner display price of any Samsung foldable we repair, a long way under the R17 817 a Fold6 folding panel runs to, so an FE with a dead inner screen is not the write off it would be on a Fold. Cracks visible with the phone closed are the R2 955 job. Faults that appear along the crease when you open it are the R7 525 job.

How is the FE different from the standard Flip7?

The FE runs a 6.7 inch inner display and a 4000mAh battery under model code SM-F761 or SM-F761B. The standard Flip7 runs a 6.9 inch inner display and a 4300mAh battery under SM-F766 or SM-F766B. Both were released in July 2025 and look similar closed. Read the model number in Settings, About phone, before anything is ordered, because the displays do not swap between the two.

Is the FE cheaper to fix than a standard Flip7?

Slightly, on every part shared between them. Cover screen R2 955 against R3 230. Inner display R7 525 against R7 870. Rear glass R1 213 against R1 301. The saving is a few hundred rand rather than a different bracket, and the work itself is identical, done on site in Umhlanga Ridge, Durban, with a three month warranty on the part and the fitting.
