With its 6.6 inch screen and 4700mAh battery, the Galaxy S23+ sits in the sweet spot of the range, more screen than the S23 without the Ultra's bulk. A bigger screen also means more glass to crack, and these phones are now at the age where batteries and charging ports start showing wear.

Where does the S23+ sit between the S23 and the S23 Ultra?

In the middle on size and battery, and with the S23 on resolution. It is 6.6 inch and 4700mAh, against 6.1 inch and 3900mAh on the S23 and 6.8 inch and 5000mAh on the Ultra, but its display is Full HD+ like the S23's and only the Ultra goes to QHD+. The code is SM-S916B, and no part from either neighbour fits it.

Is everything on an S23+ dearer to fix than on the S23?

Only the screen. That one is R4 204 against R3 712 for the smaller 6.1 inch panel, while the battery is the same R1 700 on both and the charging ports sit within three rand of each other at R1 566 and R1 569. The back cover runs the other way entirely, R1 656 on the S23+ against R2 060 on the S23.

Is a R4 204 screen sensible on a phone from 2023?

That is the repair to think hardest about. Security patches for the S23+ run into early 2028, so you would be buying under two years of supported life, and R4 204 is the second dearest screen in the S23 range after the Ultra's R5 819. If the glass is intact and the fault is elsewhere, the battery at R1 700 or the port at R1 566 is a much easier call on a 6.6 inch phone that still runs well.
