Common questions
Could it just be dirt in the port instead of a broken part?
Sometimes, yes. Compacted lint is a common cause and we check for it first. If a clean sorts it, that is what we tell you. If the pins are worn or bent, the sub-board needs replacing, and we will show you what we found.
Why do you replace a whole board instead of just the USB socket?
Samsung builds the A71 charging port onto a small sub-board along with the microphone and other components. Replacing the complete original board is the way Samsung designed the repair, and it is more reliable than soldering a loose socket onto an old board.
My A71 charges slowly all of a sudden. Is that the port?
It can be. A worn port makes poor contact, and the phone drops to a slower, safer charging speed. A tired battery or a damaged cable can cause the same thing, so we test all three before replacing anything.
