Common questions
My A30 only works while plugged in. Is the battery finished?
Almost certainly. A cell that cannot power the phone on its own has reached the end of its life. The good news is that the rest of the phone is clearly still working, and a new original battery is normally all it takes to make it independent again.
The back of my A30 is lifting. What is going on?
A swelling battery is the usual cause. Gas builds up inside a worn cell and pushes the cover off the frame. Stop charging the phone, do not press the bulge flat, and bring it in. The swollen cell needs to come out before it gets worse.
Should the charging port be done at the same time as the battery?
Only if it has a fault of its own. Battery and port failures can look similar, so we test both. If your cable connection is solid, the battery alone sorts it out. If the port is also worn, we will show you before doing anything extra.
