Common questions
Does replacing the back cover affect the cameras?
The lenses themselves are separate components, but the cover forms the surround that protects them. A cracked cover can leave the lenses exposed to dust and knocks. The new original cover puts proper protection back around them without touching the camera modules at all.
The back lifted after the phone got hot. What happened?
Heat softens the adhesive that holds covers down, and a battery on its way out generates more heat than it should. We check the battery before fitting a new cover, because sticking a cover over a swelling cell only hides the real fault.
Can I put a skin or sticker over the crack instead?
A skin hides the crack but does not seal it, and the plastic keeps flexing and cracking underneath. Moisture and dust still find their way in through the damage. A proper cover replacement actually closes the phone up again, which a sticker never will.
