Charging problems on the A20 usually start small. The cable needs a wiggle, then a specific angle, then nothing works at all. Ports fail from lint packed into the socket, plain wear, or pins bent by a forced cable.
On this model the USB port sits on a sub-board, so we replace the whole board with an original Samsung part rather than trying to rework the old one. Part and fitting are included in the price shown.
Signs you need this repair
- Only charges when the cable sits at an angle
- Have to hold the cable in place for it to charge
- Charging stops and starts on its own
- Laptop no longer recognises the phone

Common questions
Could it just be my cable or charger?
It often is, so test with a different cable and wall plug first. If the phone still needs the cable held at an angle, or charging cuts in and out with everything you try, the port itself is the likely fault and we can confirm that when we see it.
Can lint really stop an A20 from charging?
Yes. Pocket lint packs into the bottom of the socket and stops the cable seating fully, so the pins never make proper contact. Sometimes a careful clean is all the phone needs, and we will tell you if that is the case rather than replacing a healthy port.
What actually gets replaced in a charging port repair?
The charging port on the A20 sits on a small sub-board inside the phone. We replace that board complete with an original Samsung part, which is more reliable than reworking worn pins on the old one. Part and fitting are included in the price shown.
