How do I tell an A03 Core from an ordinary A03?

Look at the model code in Settings, About phone. The A03 Core is SM-A032F and the standard A03 is SM-A035F. The Core has a single 8MP rear camera, 2GB of RAM and Android 11 Go edition, where the A03 has a 48MP main camera and more memory. Parts are ordered against that code, so it is the one thing to confirm before you book.

My A03 Core has stopped charging. Is it the port or the cable?

Try another cable first. The A03 Core uses micro-USB rather than USB-C, and those cables fail at the plug more often than the port does. If a known good cable still sits loose or only charges when you hold it at an angle, the port is worn, and at R445 fitted it is the cheapest repair on this phone.

Is a screen replacement worth it on an A03 Core?

It is a close call, and we would rather say so. This was the entry model of the A03 family, out in December 2021 with 2GB of RAM and Android 11 Go edition, and R1 315 for a screen is a large share of what the phone is worth today. The R1 139 battery sits in the same territory. The R499 back cover and R445 charging port are the two that are easy to justify.
